Peanut Butter Christmas trees
These bars are similar to rice crispy treats but with peanut butter and chocolate. Once you start you won't be able to stop!!!
They also make a great decoration on the cookie plate at the holidays all dressed up like Christmas trees. 🎄🎄🎄
Peanut Butter Bars Chocolate Topping
1/2 cup light brown sugar 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/2 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup crushed pretzels Decoration
1 cup quick oats 1 cup powdered sugar
2 cups crispy rice cereal 1 1/2 tbsp milk
1-2 drops green food coloring
sprinkles
Make the bars
1. In a large bowl, combine the pretzels, oats and cereal.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together the corn syrup and brown sugar. Continue to mix until the mixture starts to bubble. Remove from heat and add in peanut butter.
3. Pour into the bowl of cereal and stir to combine.
4. Press into an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish that has been greased and lined with parchment paper. Allow parchment to hang over to help remove from pan. Make sure bars are pressed in tightly.
5 Start on the topping. Place chocolate and peanut butter in glass bowl and melt in microwave for 30 seconds, stirring chocolate half way through. Add more time in 10 seconds intervals until smooth.
6. Pour over bars and spread out. Bang pan on counter to level out chocolate. Place in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Assemble
1. Remove bars from pan and place on a flat service.
2. Using a sharp knife, make two cuts down the bars, dividing them into 3 rectangles. Then cut each strip into triangles. Continue with until you have 18 triangles.
3. Make icing by mixing powdered sugar and milk in a bowl, when smooth add in food coloring and mix well. Using a spoon or a piping bag drizzle icing over triangles to make tree lines add sprinkles and enjoy!!!
