Almond Cookies
These are cookies we usually only make at the holidays. They are buttery, moist melt in your mouth almond goodness. They can be a little time consuming with the glaze and almond decorations but if you do it in steps it isn’t that bad.
Ingredients
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Almond glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoon of water
Directions
1. Cream butter and sugar till smooth
2. Add in extract
3. Add in flour and baking soda
4. Roll into 1 inch ball, place on parchment lined cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a glass
5. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes. Cool on rack
Glaze
Mix powdered sugar and almond extract. Add water till glaze is of a spreading consistency. Spread on cookies and top with almond slivers. Enjoy.
